Our legislative agenda is developed by the Business Advocacy Committee. The group of members gathers information through our entire membership through member surveys, a committee system, continuous dialogue with elected officials, and participation in various coalitions and alliances.
Business Advocacy has subcommittees focused on transportation and infrastructure, environmental regulation, development regulation, and education and talent development that all help to guide the Chamber’s advocacy efforts.
All positions are fully vetted through the Business Advocacy Committee. The Business Advocacy Committee then makes recommendations to the Chamber’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors for final approval and adoption.
The Chamber’s top legislative priorities include:
- Funding for infrastructure
- Developing a solid talent pipeline and filling educational gaps in the community
- Working to ensure the business climate supports business growth
- Managing responsible growth
