Immigration in the Current Economic Environment
Date and Time:  TBA

The Chamber created the Latin American Business Council (LABC) in 2006, to tackle and strive for positive progress in areas that the Charleston regions are impacted by:  immigration, labor laws, business development, economic growth in our region and many more.  This means providing opportunities for education on issues confronting Latin American businesses and their relationships with the rest of the economy as well as making available key resources to take action on these issues.

The LABC will host a workshop, "Immigration in the Current Economic Environment," in order to educate the business community on the new Immigration Laws affecting our workforce.  Latin American owned businesses and workers have a tremendous economic impact on our region as business owners, consumers and employees.  It is important that businesses in our region are aware and understand the new laws.  The seminar will feature expert speakers from those in and serving the Latin American business market.  The workshop is an invaluable opportunity for our business community because it is so important that businesses in our region are aware and understand the new laws.

The mission of the Council is to serve as a catalyst and conduit promoting the integration and mutual understanding of the Hispanic and greater Charleston business communities.  In order to serve its mission the LABC will host events each year that will connect traditional businesses with Latin American businesses. There is an immense and rich community of business owners and entrepreneurs out there looking to do business. The LABC will help integrate this group into the traditional business community.
