Economic Outlook Conference
Regarded as essential among the business leaders of the Charleston metro region – and one of the largest conferences of its kind in the nation – the Economic Outlook Conference is an invaluable resource for attendees and sponsors alike. This annual event reviews the current year’s economic activity as well as national, global, and regional projections for the next 12 to 18 months and features noteworthy speakers as well as a presentation specific to the local economy.

Held throughout the year across the Charleston region, Business in Your Backyard takes a step back from the big picture and focuses on issues and opportunities impacting specific towns and neighborhoods. Two events are held in each “backyard”, driving focus, energy and connections among professionals and business owners in a concentrated area. Attendees enjoy ample connection time at the start of each session, then hear from community and business leaders delivering insider updates. Chamber 101 & 102
Monthly orientation and connection meetings aide in maximizing value of your organization’s chamber membership in this fast-paced session. Attendees learn about Chamber initiatives, programs and services to help them grow their business and delve further toward their desired outcomes. Attendees have an opportunity to promote their business as they learn about others’. The Chamber recognizes the importance of member connections, and how they grow your business. Chamber Connect is a program designed to offer members the opportunity to do just that – connect with other members in a casual setting. Held four times a year at various locations throughout the metro area, this series is the perfect opportunity to make new contacts in a variety of industries while enjoying a high-energy, social atmosphere with complimentary appetizers. Executive Women’s Roundtable
The Executive Women’s Roundtable provides an opportunity for female executives of Chamber member companies to discuss local, regional and national topics that impact the economy and business environment. The quarterly programs are by invitation-only and facilitate involvement in the region’s leadership and the opportunity to engage with and learn from other women executives and business leaders. A 10-month program for professionals offering an intensive and up-close look at various issues impacting our region, Leadership Charleston features prominent and stimulating speakers who encourage discussion and participation along with visits to various community assets, including schools, hospitals, the Port of Charleston, military facilities, and a trip to the S.C. Metro Leadership Visit
The Metro Leadership Visit is a delegation of community leaders that visit cities throughout the nation to explore ways of solving issues facing our region. The purpose is to discover and study best practices and new techniques employed by other thriving regional communities. State Delegation Appreciation Reception
This annual event, held at the end of the legislative session, recognizes all members of the tri-county legislative delegation for their work in helping to advance the business community’s legislative agenda. Each year, one member of the tri-county delegation is awarded the prestigious Glenn McConnell Elected Leadership Award, an award created in 2012 and named for former Senator Glenn McConnell.
