Business Development

The Charleston region has secured a place on the global commerce stage. The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce works to ensure the region’s continued success through Business Development initiatives, programs and services. Whether currently operating or in development, member businesses, small and large, have extensive resources and support to thrive, develop talent, increase revenue and compete in today’s and tomorrow’s private sector business community.

The area’s economic mix is diverse, combining one of the busiest container ports along the Southeast and Gulf coasts, a world-recognized visitor industry, a thriving airport, one of the Southeast’s most impressive medical hubs, a well-established base of national and international manufacturers, as well as a large military presence. The Charleston metro’s dynamic economy, alongside the natural beauty, world-class culture and historic charm, has lead to a highly sought after destination for businesses, potential residents and tourists. The 2016-2017 Economic Forecast predicts we will gain 20,000 new jobs in the next two years along with 48 new people a day –  making it essential that we address the underlying support systems of infrastructure and talent.

Small Business

With 80% of our membership identified as small businesses, the Chamber works to provide the resources and support to propel business growth. Our continually evolving Small Business Package contains goods and services designed to improve productivity, navigate logistics and build relationships that matter.

Global Commerce

The Chamber’s global commerce efforts aim to ramp up our region’s export and import activity. World Trade Center Charleston is driving global commerce through Export Charleston, an extensive export training program, development of a regional Foreign Direct Investment strategy, trade advocacy efforts and regular educational opportunities.
